Know what to work on next.

Keep your company's assumptions, evidence, and tasks in one record. Six criteria guide the Idea stage, and a coach reads what you attach and tells you what it supports and what would make it stronger.

Requirement

A problem statement exists: who has the problem, what they do about it today, and what it costs them.

Evidence · a note, as attached

Spoke with Mei Ling, solo physio in Tiong Bahru, on 18 Sep. She spends 90 minutes every evening replying to WhatsApp booking requests and double-booked twice last month.

Coach's read

This meets the problem statement: Mei Ling is named, she manages bookings over WhatsApp today, and the cost is counted, 90 minutes every evening and two double-bookings last month. It shows one person's problem; the segment criterion is where you find out who else shares it.

For founders finding the problem worth solving

FounderKeep is for founders of software and online businesses who are still working out which customer problem they are solving. The first stage asks you to describe the problem, name a customer segment, write down the assumption most likely to be wrong, and book three discovery conversations.

Your assumptions and the evidence you collect for them sit on the same page, so you can see what is supported, what is still a guess, and where the plan has gaps.

How it works

  1. Keep what you learn together.

Your offering, customers, channels, activities, goals and vision share one company record. Each entry keeps its source, whether that is your intake answers, a coach draft you accepted, or a note you wrote, and you can edit or remove it. Processes, roles, and responsibilities join the record in later stages.

  2. Work toward three real conversations.

The Idea stage ends with a defined problem, a segment you can reach, and three discovery conversations on your calendar. Six criteria spell out what that takes. When each one is accepted, or overridden with a written reason that stays in the record, and no reviews are pending, you decide when to move on to Problem Validated.

  3. Get a clear read on your evidence.

Attach a note, a number, a link, or a screenshot to a criterion. The coach says what it establishes and what would strengthen it, and returns accepted, needs more, or unreadable. It reads text: a screenshot's caption rather than the image, and not the pages behind links, so put the details that matter in the caption. Fill in any placeholders before you attach, and give each booking a named person and a time.

  4. See every task in one list.

Each company starts with six Idea-stage tasks and a task for setting up a place to keep interview notes. When you add a task of your own, the coach places it in Do now, Prepare, Time-bound, or Not now and gives a reason, and you can move it afterwards. Tasks from every company you belong to, plus your personal ones, appear in a single list.

Stage one: a defined problem and three booked conversations

Six criteria for the Idea stage, each with what to include. You can advance when all six are accepted, or overridden with a recorded reason, and no reviews are still pending.

  1. 1

A problem statement exists: who has the problem, what they do about it today, and what it costs them.

What to include: Name the person, what they do today instead, and what it costs them in time, money, or risk.

  2. 2

A first customer segment is named, narrow enough that you can list where to find at least ten of them.

What to include: Narrow it until you could name ten specific people or businesses in it.

  3. 3

The riskiest assumption is written as one sentence you could be wrong about.

What to include: One sentence, one assumption, phrased so a conversation could prove it false.

  4. 4

At least three places where the segment already gathers are listed.

What to include: Three named places: a forum, a group, a list, an event, a supplier.

  5. 5

A discovery interview script exists that asks about past behaviour, not opinions about the idea.

What to include: Questions about what they did last time, not whether they would use your idea.

  6. 6

At least three discovery conversations are booked, with evidence of the booking.

What to include: A booked time with a named person from the segment, for each of three conversations.

After the Idea stage comes Problem Validated, which is built, with its own six criteria and tasks: it starts with ten discovery conversations with recorded notes and ends with a recorded decision to continue, pivot, or stop. Solution POC and Demand Validated are named in the app, with their criteria to come.

A review tells you what to add

A second example, against a different criterion. When evidence falls short, the coach names the gap and the smallest thing that would close it.

Example record · Idea stage · Criterion 6

Requirement

At least three discovery conversations are booked, with evidence of the booking.

Evidence · a note, as attached

Talked to three physios; two said they would try it.

Coach's read

This note records interest, but does not establish any booked conversations. Add a named person from the segment and a booked time for each of the three conversations.

Work, Money, Life, and Learning

Your companies sit next to a few records of your own, so a plan for the company can account for your time and money.

Privacy

What goes to the coach, how long it is kept, what you share, and what deleting your account removes.

  • The coach

The coach sends the company context and the evidence text needed for each request to Anthropic's Claude through Cloudflare AI Gateway. Coach use is counted per person against a daily allowance of coach actions that resets at midnight UTC; the count holds no content.

  • Retention

Anthropic's API policy deletes inputs and outputs within 30 days, subject to its stated exceptions, and excludes API data from model training by default. Your record is kept until you delete it.

  • Sharing

Your runway stays on your own profile and is not shared with members. The one line about your weekly hours goes into the shared Activities section, where you can edit or delete it.

  • Deletion

Deleting your account removes your profile, your personal tasks, and any company where you are the only person, including its uploaded evidence. A company with another admin keeps going, with your entries kept under your name. A company where you are the only admin and other people have joined needs another admin first, or is deleted with your account.

Create your first company record

The intake asks about your idea, the people who have the problem, and your own situation. Your answers create the company and its first drafts, which you review and edit before accepting them into the record.
